The speaker of parliament Rebecca Kadaga has directed that the attorney widely wide-spread together with the minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs explain the controversies surrounding the procurement of ballot papers and the stated dismissal of senior personnel at the Electoral Commission. 

The directive followed worries by way of Kira Municipality MP Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda over the failure through the attorney everyday William Byaruhanga or the Justice minister Ephraim Kamuntu to reply to beforehand queries about the procurement method for the printing of ballot paper ahead of the 2021 customary election.

The MPs grievance comes after media reviews that eight EC senior officers had been fired amid an on-going investigation in regard to the procurement process.  

it is alleged that the Electoral Commission officers rejected a ballot paper printing bid from Veridos which until now in 2016 signed a joint project with Uganda Printing and Publishing Corporation (UPPC) to print cash and different security printing deals.  

The electoral body officers reportedly declined to award the organization the ballot paper printing deal for the 2021 polls, on the grounds that it is the equal business enterprise entrusted with the transmission of poll results. 

Now Kadaga has directed that the depend have to be positioned on the order paper so that the Byaruhanga or Kamuntu provides an rationalization to parliament.
