Last updated on September 11th, 2021 at 03:13 pm

Former Deputy Minister of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs, Obert Gutu who is also the Vice President of the opposition MDC led by Thokozani Khupe has claimed that there are some quarters who were not amused when investors were coming to Zimbabwe.

Posting on microblogging site, Twitter, Gutu said:

Level of negativity within certain circles is shocking! When investors come to Zimbabwe & show serious intention to invest, naysayers cry foul & complain the country is being robbed! Have these naysayers ever heard of something called mergers & acquisitions?

Gutu who is the former spokesperson of the MDC during the reign of the late party founding leader, Morgan Tsvangirai, has of late been accused of being sympathetic to and dining with as well as being an agent of the ruling ZANU PF.

Since his departure from the opposition MDC led by Nelson Chamisa, Gutu has been critical of the party saying that its leadership was concerned by selfish and personal needs which they intended to pursue even at the expense of national interests.
