Leicester City dealt big blow as Brendan Rodgers confirmed that Nigeria international Wilfried Ndidi needs an operation after picking up a knock in training which ruled him out until next month.
The 23-year-old Super Eagles midfielder did not feature in the Foxes 1-1 scored with Premier League rival Aston Villa in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final on Wednesday night at the King Power Stadium.

Ndidi has been ever-present in Rodgers team this season but former Celtic boss has informed that ex-Genk star has been ruled out for few weeks after he sustains a keen injury in Leicester City training on Tuesday.
The Irish coach told the press via Leicester Mercury: “It was just unfortunate,” Rodgers said on Ndidi’s injury. “He nicked his meniscus just changing direction.
“He goes in for a minor operation [on Thursday]. You’re looking at around three or four weeks [out], so he’ll probably miss most of January and early February, and then he will be back by then.”
Super Eagles star will miss five Leicester City games, including their semi-final second leg at Villa on January 28 but in Ndidi absence Hamza Choudhury is set for a prominent role.
Leicester, second in the standings, resume their league campaign on Saturday when they host Southampton the team they beat 9-0 in the reverse fixture in October.
