Media Groups Demands Press Freedom In Thailand

Media groups in Thailand has demanded press freedom in a statement made on Tuesday, this comes shortly after all the media agencies were sued for breaking laws.

All form of journalism has been suspended indefinitely till sanity returns across the country at large. To counter the government directive the media group has called freedom of the press to properly pass information.

In a different articulation, the Foreign Correspondents’ Club of Thailand said it was “profoundly worried” by the oversight.

It said such activities cause the administration to seem severe or inert towards pundits, and could prompt more open annoyance.

“Genuine columnists ought to be permitted to report significant advancements without the danger of boycotts, suspensions, control, and arraignment,” said the unfamiliar journalists’ club.

various media groups said that they were wrongly sued for breaking emergency laws. In Thailand there are five major media outlet which includes both print and broadcast.

There’s been recent crisis in Thailand due to a democratic group calling for democracy across the country which was due to the violation of human rights by government authorities and security forces.
