AFCON 2019: Desert Foxes Survive a Huge Scare

The Desert Foxes survived a huge scare to qualify for the semifinal of the AFCON tournament in Egypt following the 5-4 win against Ivory Coast after 120 minutes of full action.
It took just 20 minutes for the Algerians to break the deadlock via Sofiane Feghouli from outside the box after the Desert Foxed missed some opportunities to go ahead in the 15 minutes of the clash.
Algeria kept pushing for the second goal but the Ivorians are not losing their guard this times they look to equalise the deficit , it was a tough decision for Algerian manager Djamel Belmadi after Youcef Atal signed to the bench for a discomfort after picking up an injury after just 30 minutes played, he was replaced by Mehdi Zeffane.
Algerian had more ball possession and dominates the game against Ivory Coast. The first 45 minutes ended in favour of Algeria, the Desert Foxes have a slim lead over the Elephants.
Algeria kept pressing hard in the second and the Ivorian goalkeeper Sylvain Gbohouo in a reckless tackle and referee Bamlak Tessema Weyesa blows his whistle for a foul. The referee makes the call – penalty to Algeria.
Baghdad Bounedjah smashed the ball against the crossbar in the 48th minute of the clash. Ivory Coast made an attempt via Jonathan Kodjia, but his effort was dealt with ease by the Algerian goalkeeper.
Ivory Coast coach Ibrahim Kamara introduced Cheick Comara to replace Wilfred Kanon in the 54th minutes of the clash, Jonathan Kodjia got the equaliser for Ivorian in the 62nd minute following a decent assist from Wilfred Zaha.
The regulation time ended 1-1.
The 30 minutes extra time ended in a goalless draw as the scores remain the same after the entertaining additional time.

Both teams will head into penalties to decide the winner of the match.
