African Union observers endorse Guinea poll as tension builds

Last updated on September 11th, 2021 at 08:19 am

On Monday, Cellou Diallo a opposition leader and presidential candidate announced himself winner of the just concluded elections in Guinea.

Tending to writers in the capital, Conakry, Augustin Matata Ponyo, the AU’s head of mission in Guinea, said on Tuesday the polling form was held “in straightforwardness”.

“The races were held in a straightforward, secure, quiet and tranquil climate, by and by showing the development of the Guinean public and political entertainers”, he declared.

Pressure is working in the nation in front of the arrival of authentic outcomes. Diallo’s allies have held festivals in the capital.

ECOWAS told Conde and Diallo that if anyone of them is agitated they should take legal actions by going to court rather than causing chaos across the country.
