Algeria Star Riyad Mahrez Extends Contract With Man City Till 2025

Algerian international star Riyad Mahrez has signed a new two-year contract extension with Manchester City, which means he will remain at the Club until June 2025. He had just one year left on his previous deal with the current Premier League holders.

The Algerian star has become one of the integral figures in Pep Guardiola’s squad since he arrived at Leicester City in the summer of 2018. He helped Man City win three Premier League titles, three League Cups and an FA Cup along with reaching a maiden Champions League final. He has won a total of 8 trophies with the Blues.

Earlier, he helped the Foxes become shock Premier League champions in the 2015-16 campaign, registering 63 goals and adding a further 45-assists in 189 appearances in all competitions for the Citizens.

After extending the contract with Man City, Mahrez reportedly said, “I’m very happy to sign the new deal, I have enjoyed every single minute of my time here. It’s a pleasure to be part of such an incredible Club.”

He also wrote on Twitter, “2025 – Proud and happy to remain a Cityzen, with always the same thirst for trophies. We keep going.” Now, he will play at the Etihad Stadium until 2025. He becomes the second member of Pep Guardiola’s squad to sign a contract extension this week.
