The head of the organizing committee, Aqila Al-Abbar, confirmed that politicians will be among the invitees, including ambassadors and ministers. Invitations were also extended to famous media figures such as Tunisian commentator Raouf Khalif, before announcing other names, which are likely to include Arab celebrities, as was the case in the opening match of Tripoli International Stadium.

It is worth noting that the opening of Benghazi International Stadium comes after renovation and development operations that touched on various aspects. The stadium was rehabilitated after many years of its doors being closed, and within the political authorities’ project to reform sports, including football, through redeveloping stadiums and supporting clubs, which will have a positive impact on the Libyan national team.

The organizing committee of the opening ceremony of Benghazi International Stadium has invited a number of football stars and celebrities from various stadiums, along with important political figures, to attend the ceremony scheduled for Thursday. The event will include artistic and football activities, through a friendly match, and all of this will be attended by a large audience who purchased their tickets through an official website.

The official page of Benghazi International Stadium published a list of former players involved in the exhibition match, including former Barcelona star and President of the Cameroonian Football Association Samuel Eto’o (43 years old), Dutch striker Patrick Kluivert (48 years old), and his compatriot, the midfielder who was famous in Milan, Clarence Seedorf (48 years old). The match will also be attended by a number of defenders who have shone in European stadiums, such as Brazilian Roberto Carlos (51 years old), Italian Marco Materazzi (51 years old), English John Terry (44 years old), and former Manchester United defender Wes Brown (45 years old), while the goalkeepers will be represented by Brazilian Julio Cesar (45 years old), who previously shone with Inter Milan, and German Jens Lehmann (55 years old).

Other players will animate the match, such as Brazilian Julio Baptista (43 years old), who had a distinguished experience with Real Madrid, former Manchester United striker Luis Nani (38 years old), English Michael Owen (45 years old), and French David Trezeguet (47 years old), which guarantees a great viewing experience for the fans present in the stands.
