BRICS nations forge strong security ties at the 13th National Security Advisors Meeting

According to the Minister in the Presidency responsible for the State Security Agency, Khumbudzo Ntshavheni, senior national security officials from South Africa, China, Russia, India, and Brazil were scheduled to advance, among other things, their shared “BRICS agenda and cooperation on security-related matters.” At the 13th National Security Advisors Meeting of the BRICS, which took place in Sandton, Johannesburg, on Tuesday (July 25), the official from South Africa sent a warm welcome to her counterparts.

The representatives talked about the numerous issues of global security that are relevant to their regions, as well as the importance of economic collaboration. “BRICS countries have already become a very important platform for emerging markets and developing countries to seek strength through unity,” says Wang Yi, China’s top diplomat, who it was revealed on Tuesday (July 25) will succeed Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang.

“Our five countries have come from afar to gather here, to follow the strategic guidance of the five leaders, and to discuss major issues related to our national security and international security. We are here to compare notes, to reach consensus, to discuss solutions, and to make political preparations for the BRICS Summit next month,” the veteran diplomat said.

The meeting that we have scheduled is one that is both very important and essential. It is imperative that we do not lose sight of the momentous journey that BRICS has already undertaken. The Brics countries use the Meeting of National Security Advisers and High Representatives on National Security as a venue to carry out political and security cooperation with one another. On Monday, Friends of BRICS national security advisers met with Minister Khumbudzo Ntshavheni’s BRICS Security counterparts at the residence of Minister Khumbudzo Ntshavheni.

Belarus, Burundi, Cuba, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates were among the Friends of BRICS countries that participated in this meeting. The BRICS friends are a collection of nations that have shown an interest in joining BRICS, as well as those countries that chair major institutions in the Global South and those countries that have been invited as per the prerogative of the Chair.

In a subsequent statement, Khumbudzo Ntshavheni stated, “We must reinforce the way that we do things through both the BRICS and the multilateral system of the United Nations,” in light of the fact that we are dealing with challenges such as counterterrorism, transnational crimes, and cybersecurity. This comes just a few months before the 15th BRICS Summit, which is scheduled to take place in Johannesburg in the month of August.
