Business: SABC Is Pressing Ahead With Proposals To Slash Hundreds Of Jobs

South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) is pressing ahead with the motion to slash hundreds of job particularly some less relevant jobs so as to save cost and the economy due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic across Africa and the world at large

Nonetheless, the SABC has demonstrated there are around 170 opportunities that workers can apply for, chopping down the quantity of representatives that will be affected to 230.

The workers to be saved will be offered a severance bundle of multi week for each finished year of administration.

“It become certain that, tragically, our association requires a troublesome yet fundamental cycle that will bring about the decrease of staff. The SABC is aware of the way that this cycle will influence individuals’ occupations.

SABC is seeking a proposed lay off to retrench close to a thousand individuals that are near retirement so that there will be adequate job for young individuals within the next 5 years, another reason for this proposed lay off is due the impact of the coronavirus, this plan will be implemented in the next two years.
