Cameroon Makes History as First Importer of Dangote’s Petroleum

Neptune Oil, a significant distributor and retailer in Central Africa received the first export of 60,000 tons of refined petroleum which is the first international purchaser of petroleum from the Dangote refinery is Cameroon.

The firm stated that it will be collaborating with the refiner in order to create a stable supply chain that would help to stabilize fuel prices and opportunities throughout the region.

Aliko Dangote intends to export 56 percent of his entire gasoline production despite the refinery’s operations being threatened by problems with the crude oil supply. 

In September, the 650,000 b/d facility started selling gasoline domestically and the only buyer was Nigeria’s state owned oil corporation.  Dangote and the NNPC started a crude for gasoline exchange agreement in October and it is settled in Naira.
