Tanzanian music sensation Diamond Platnumz, best known for her hit ‘Komasava’, is set to take on Nigeria’s finest artists at the upcoming African Entertainment Awards USA (AEAUSA) in November.
This follows the publication of the AUSEA nominations, in which Diamond features in the prestigious ‘Artist of the Year’ category.
Diamond will face stiff competition in this category from leading African artists such as Burna Boy, Davido, Yemi Alade, Ayra Starr, Asake, Rema, Wizkid, Adekunle Gold and rising South African star Tyla.
Diamond has also been nominated in the Best Male Artist category, in addition to Artist of the Year, competing against heavyweights such as Davido, Burna Boy, Wizkid, Olamide, Rema, Kizz Daniel, Black Sherif, Fally Ipupa and his former collaborator Harmonize.
The nominations underline Diamond’s significant influence, not only in Tanzania but across Africa.
On the female side, Nandy, another Tanzanian artist, has secured a nomination in the ‘Best Female Artist’ category, where she will be competing against well-known names such as Yemi Alade, Tiwa Savage, Simi, Ayra Starr, Tems, Makhadzi, Tyla, Aya, Nakamura and Niniola.
In other news, Rayvanny’s song ‘Sensema’, featuring Harmonize, is nominated in the ‘Best Collaboration’ category, alongside collaborations such as Chris Brown’s with Davido on ‘Hmmm’ and others.
