ED Says He Arranged Chiwenga’s Hospitalisation Directly With China’s President President Xi Jinping

Zimbabwe’s president Emmerson Mnangagwa has said that he arranged VP Chiwenga’s hospitalisation in China directly with China’s President Xi Jinping. Mnangagwa revealed this to journalists after meeting Chiwenga’s at his home yesterday.

I am confident that now the whole of Zimbabwe knows that the Vice-President is back and fit, and he is very clear and raring to go.

I am also very grateful to my brother, the President of the People’s Republic of China whom I talked to and he said he will do his best and instruct his system to do their best to look after your Vice-President, and that has been done.

Chiwenga was hospitalised for 4 months. It’s unclear if the VP will return to work immediately. There has however been speculation that he returned in time to attend the Zanu PF annual conference in Goromonzi in December.
