How Police Shot Nollywood Actor Azeez Ijaduade In Ogun?

Azeez Ijaduade, a popular Nollywood actor and movie director, came into limelight after the police command in Ogun, a state in southwestern Nigeria, shot him. 

The police revealed that a shell from a shot fired into the air by a mobile policeman hit Nigerian actor Azeez Ijaduade. SP Omolola Odutola, the command’s spokesperson, said that the police mistakenly shot the Nollywood actor on the neck. 

After the tragic incident, the Nollywood actor was immediately rushed to the Babcock University Teaching Hospital. He will be discharged soon.

What happened in Ogun?

Azeez Ololade Ijaduade was shot by police in Ogun. The shooting took place in Iperu Remo in the Ikenne Local Government area of Ogun on Sunday. 

The police officer wanted to disperse thugs that wanted to mob the person he was attached to. According to the report, during the Bramaj Company end of year party in the hotel, a mobile policeman attached to the Chinese expatriate expended a shot into the air to disperse a gang. However, the ammunition shell hit the actor.

Commander Mopol 16 took responsibility for the medical bill of the actor. The police started investigating the shooting and also visited the actor at the hospital.

Abiodun Adebanjo, through his Instagram handle, said that a Nigerian police officer shot Azeez Ololade Ijaduade. He said, “Please, we need help in Iperu. My director, Azeez Ijaduade, was shot by Nigerian police personnel. He is presently at Babcock University Teaching Hospital.”

The state Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alamutu, condemned the incident. However, he expressed joy that the Nollywood actor was in a stable condition. 

State Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, said that the police officer, who fired the shot, had been arrested.
