The bank verification number (BVN) is important in the Nigerian Banking industry. It is a legally recognised financial registration system. It is an 11-digit number that is unique to each Nigerian in the country.
BVN shows your full name, date of birth and phone number. The scheme was introduced by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the central bank and apex monetary authority of Nigeria, to protect customers’ transactions.
