Last updated on September 11th, 2021 at 08:21 am

Hundreds of demonstrators took to the streets of Sudan’s capital Monday, worrying the departure of the transitional government.

According to eyewitnesses and photos on social media, protection forces mounted a cordon in front of the presidential palace and the headquarters of the Sudanese Army in Khartoum.

The protesters held banners pronouncing “Down with the government of hunger” and chanted slogans calling for the departure of Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok’s government.

Meanwhile, dozens of protesters established in the town of Omdurman in Khartoum State, denouncing the excessive fees of staple goods, deteriorating monetary conditions and the high change charge of the US dollar towards the Sudanese pound.

There was once no official comment from the Sudanese government. Sudan is suffering from renewed shortages of bread, gasoline and cooking gas as a result of the US dollar’s upward shove against the Sudanese pound in parallel markets.

Hamdok’s authorities is the first due to the fact Omar al-Bashir used to be removed from the presidency on April 11, 2019 amid famous protests condemning the deteriorating monetary conditions.
