The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is the official entrance examination board for students in Nigeria seeking admission to colleges and universities in the country. Under JAMB, the first entrance exam is called the University Matriculation Examination (UME) for Nigerian students seeking admission to a university in the country. The second exam is the Monotechnics, Polytechnics and Colleges of Education Matriculation Examination (MPCEME) for students seeking admission to Monotechnics, Polytechnics or Colleges of Education in Nigeria. Currently, JAMB has combined these examinations into one exam known as the ‘Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME)’.
JAMB conducted its 2023 Mock-UTME on 30 March in 725 centres across Nigeria. However, some students were unable to sit in the examination due to some technical hitches. JAMB said those students can sit for the examination again on 18 April.
Fabian Benjamin, the spokesperson, reportedly said, “Candidates who were present and screened for the examination but could not sit the examination have been rescheduled to retake the mock examination on Tuesday, 18th April 2023.”
Students who successfully took the mock examination on 30 March can check their results. The JAMB result has been released for the 2023 Mock-UTME. Candidates can check their JAMB results using their registration number. They can visit the https://www.jamb.gov.ng/Efacility portal and click on the “Check UTME Results” link.
The results will show the total score of the candidates. Students can also print out a copy of their results for future reference. Click on the “Print Result Slip” button to take out the print of the result.
JAMB is set to conduct the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) on April 25, 2023. Fabian Benjamin has said, “The Board has brought forward the conduct of its 2023 UTME which was earlier scheduled to hold from Saturday, 29th April 2023, to Tuesday, 25th April 2023.”
