Prime Minister Thomas Thabane of Lesotho is under increased pressure to resign after appearing in court over the entrangled his late wife, Lipolelo Thabane’s suspected murder.
Lipolelo, 58, was shot dead two days before Mr Thabane became prime minister in 2017.
He would be the first African leader to be charged with a domestic murder while in office, in a case that has shocked the tiny mountain kingdom.
His party and opposition leaders want Thabane to step down at once before he plans to retire in early July.
They hope that his departure would put an end to the political instability and controversy that has plagued Lesotho as a country in the face of widespread poverty and unemployment
