Former President Jerry John Rawlings has paid glowing tribute to the late President of Zimbabwe on behalf of government and people of Ghana.
At the funeral of Robert Mugabe Saturday, in the capital Harare, he described the late leader as a “formidable warrior.”
“Ghanaians, especially those familiar with Africa’s epic struggle for freedom, justice and dignity, are greatly saddened by the irreplaceable loss of one of our continent’s most inspiring liberation fighters,” Mr Rawlings added.
Robert Mugabe, Zimbabwe’s first post-independence leader, died aged 95 last week. He was ousted in a military coup in 2017 after 37 years in power.
