NEWS: Locust Invades Farmlands In Somalia

Swarm of locust has invaded Somalia, the recent invasion has seen the locust destroy crops in the country. There has been food shortages in Somalia due to the coronavirus, now it seems to be worse due to the invasion.

Abdullahi Ahmed, a Somali camel herder, shares his unsettling involvement in the insect invasion, “Here we are in the Daynile area.

Early today, an enormous number of beetles attacked and from that point forward they have been eating the grass expected for our domesticated animals.

International agricultural bodies are hoping to solve this infestation that has seen shortage of food in Somalia, they are hoping to fumigate various farm lands so as to reduce the invasion deficit.
