NEWS: New protest for the release of journalist Khaled Drareni in Algeria

For the 2nd week in a row, lots of human beings took the streets in Algiers in protest traumatic the launch of Khaled Drareni.

The journalist used to be sentenced to three years in prison and has seeing that emerge as a image of the combat for press freedom.

Imprisoned close to Algiers due to the fact 29 March, Drareni is due to be retried on appeal on 8 September.

An international campaign of aid and demonstrations in favour of his release have been currently organised in Paris, New York and Geneva.

Reporters Without Borders these days denounced the deteriorating context for press freedom in Algeria

It ranked the united states of america 146th (out of 180) in its 2020 World Press Freedom Index, down 27 places from 2015.
