Nigeria: Pregnant woman, 2 kids and 3 others die in a freak ondo accident

A pregnant woman, her two children and 3 others were killed in a freak accident involving a diesel tanker, a truck and six motor cycles in Ikare-Akoko local government area of Ondo state on Saturday, August 29.

Many others were reportedly injured as the accident occurred at a commercial area.

According to reports, the diesel tanker had a brake failure and crashed into a truck which eventually crushed the commercial motor-cyclists.

Several of the dead were said to be motor-cycle riders.

The spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in the state, Omotola Ogungbawo, confirmed four deaths. However, eyewitnesses claim the number of deaths were up to eight.

The bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the morgue, while the injured were taken to lkare general hospital.
