Nigeria: Rohr drops Akpeyi invites 2 new stars for Ukraine friendly

Gernot Rohr has dopped Daniel Akpeyi and invites two new players of Maduka Okoye and Joe Aribo for September 10 friendly match in Kyiv.
It will be Nigeria’s first outing since their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations Third-Place match in Cairo Egypt against the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia which The Gernot Rohr’s team won 1-0 .Nigeria-German Okoye has been handed in first called to solve Super Eagles goalkeeper crisis after the Africa Cup of Nations third-place finish in Egypt, while Rangers Aribo, who is English-born is an ideal candidate to replace Chelsea legend Obi Mikel calling time on his international career last month.
Nigeria friendly match against Ukraine will serve as part of the preparation for the Super Eagles’ 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying games against the Squirrels of Benin billed to hold on November 11 at a yet to be named venue.
