Nigerian football star Ighalo finally names his closest Manchester United teammate

Nigerian football star Odion Ighalo has named Juan Mata as his closest Manchester United teammate at Old Trafford.

The 30-year-old joined the Red Devils from Chinese Super League side Shanghai Shenhua on a six months loan deal earlier this year.

And he made an instant impact in his first two months at the Theater of Dreams scoring four goals and one assist in eight appearances across competitions.

The retired Super Eagles forward got a warm welcome from his new teammates shortly after joining them with Paul Pogba and Eric Bailly posting a short video where they called him their brother.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has also expressed satisfactory towards the striker’s positive attitude in the dressing with the Norwegian considering extending his stay at the club.

However, the former Watford goal poacher has been denied the chance to play football due to the spread of deadly coronavirus.

The Premier League like many other leagues across the world is on suspension until later this month and Ighalo could not hide his feeling after lamenting that he was bored already.

Meanwhile one of his fans took advantage of the post to ask him who his best teammate is since he joined Man United.

Ighalo came back under the tweet to reply him saying he is close to all the players with a special affinity with former Chelsea star Mata.

Balogun on Twitter asked: “One quick question Ighalo, who is your closest pal in the #mufc squad? and almost immediately, he replied saying: “I’m close to everyone but I play more with Mata.”

Earlier in March, the Nigerian star posted on Twitter: “Find you a Boss that loves you the way Juan Mata loves me”.

While the Spaniard retaliated with his post saying: “Find someone that loves you the way Ighalo loves me.
