Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), will be attending the flag-off of the party’s campaign for the governorship election in Imo State.
The LP’s governorship candidate in the state, Athan Achonu, announced that the event will take place at the Kanu Nwankwo Sports Stadium in Owerri.
Obi’s arrival is eagerly awaited by party members and supporters in the state. The flag-off will also be attended by the Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, the national chairman of the party, Julius Abure, and other national officers and chieftains.
Achonu stated that the goal of the party is to run an issue-based campaign with the aim of unseating the All Progressives Congress government in the state.
He described Obi as a transformational leader and expressed confidence in defeating the current state governor, Hope Uzodimma. The people are urged to come out in large numbers to welcome Obi.
Nigerian entertainer Charly Boy has called on the Department of State Service (DSS) to arrest supporters of the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, in Edo State.
Obi recently attended a rally in Edo State, where he was met with a large crowd of supporters.
Charly Boy praised the supporters for their show of solidarity and challenged the DSS to arrest them. He expressed his belief that Obi is the true president and anyone else is a counterfeit.
Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party in the upcoming elections, has addressed rumors of a possible merger with other candidates. It was reported that Obi, Atiku Abubakar, and Rabiu Kwankwaso were considering joining forces to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
However, Obi dismissed these rumors at a rally in Edo State, assuring his supporters that the Labour Party will continue to grow and that they are committed to building a better Nigeria.
He urged people not to listen to the rumors and emphasized their focus on moving the country towards production rather than consumption.
