Hamas thanks Qatar for military support of $500 million to Gaza. Qatar is accused of strengthening the Hamas group in their increasing terrorist activities. After 11 days of fighting, Israeli air attacks and artillery fire killed 254 Palestinians in Gaza.
This massive incident included 66 children and it ended wounding over 1,900 people. The rocket in the residential area killed 12 people, two children in Israel and also wounded 357 people in the attack. Qatar’s decision to offer $500 million to Gaza is said to help in Gaza Strip where Israeli air attacks caused widespread destruction, damaging infrastructure and leveling buildings. Though, there are high chances that these funds will directly help Hamas groups in intensifying illegal activities disguised in the name of rebuilding infrastructure.

Qatar often serves as a mediator between Israel and Hamas and it has contributed hundreds of millions of dollars in humanitarian and development aid to support past cease-fires. Qatar’s foreign minister, Mohammad bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, mentioned that they will always continue to support their brothers in Palestine in order to reach a just and lasting solution by establishing their independent state.
On the other side, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken vowed to international support rally to rebuild Gaza and ensuring that none of the aid reaches Hamas. Heis instead trying to bolster Hamas’ rival, the internationally recognized Palestinian authority. Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar mentioned to the reporters that their terrorist group welcomes all reconstruction aid, as long as it did not come from Israel, and had no objections to international oversight.
Though already, there has been a huge loss of lives in the region, the authorities urge to stop the violence. Knowing that this has been the worst exchange of fire in years between Israel and armed Palestinian groups. It started on May 10 after Israeli forces cracked down on protesters in Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, Islam’s third holiest site, which is also revered by Jews as the Temple Mount.
