Rema’s ‘Calm Down’ Is Highest-Charting Song Of 2023

Rema, AKA Divine Ikubor, has gained international recognition with his song ‘Calm Down’, featuring Selena Gomez. His song has become the world’s most streamed song of 2023.

Calm Down has secured top position at the Global Shazam Year-End list. ‘Calm Down’ beat Miley Cyrus’ ‘Flowers’ and Lady Gaga’s ‘Bloody Mary’ to secure the top position. Miley Cyrus’ ‘Flowers’ and Lady Gaga’s ‘Bloody Mary’ ranked second and third, respectively. ‘Calm Down’ song made history as the first African song to top the Global Shazam Year-End list.

The song has become the highest-charting song of 2023 on Apple Music’s global chart. It ranked number 12 in the world on Apple Music in 2023. The song also ranked No.45 most-streamed song of 2023 in the United States on Apple Music. It was the highest-ranked African song on Apple Music’s Top 100 global list.

Rema’s achievement

Rema’s Calm Down charted at the end of the year list in more than 7 countries. Recently, the Nigerian singer made history with his spectacular performance at London’s O2 Arena. He made grand style riding on the back of a horse painted red and black. 

Earlier this month, he also became the first African artist to perform at the Ballon d’Or, organized by the France Football Federation. Last month, he collaborated with Ice Spice, a popular American rapper, for the song “Pretty Girl.”
