So it’s no surprise that Jadon Sancho is shining brightly and continues to do so.

Although Jadon Sancho’s performance for Borussia Dortmund against PSG was superb, now is not the time to start clamouring for his participation in the Euros or his return to Manchester United. Sancho has faced significant challenges over the past two years and it would be premature to put undue pressure on him.

Sancho’s interview with Jamie Carragher on CBS Sports was a highlight after the game. Carragher, who had consumed eight pints of beer during the match, gave a lively and somewhat bewildered interview. The interview summed up the chaotic and distracting elements that have affected Sancho’s career, with voiceovers and Sancho looking somewhat uncomfortable in the spotlight.

One of the questions asked concerned Sancho’s hopes of being recalled to the England national team for the Euros. Although Sancho responded appropriately, the question raises several issues and distracts from the current reality of Sancho and England’s situation. It is unlikely to happen and, more importantly, would not be a wise decision for all.

Sancho’s progress has been hampered by exaggerated expectations and by the fact that he was immersed in a toxic environment within the England team. It would be counterproductive to subject him to similar circumstances again. On the contrary, it is important to give him the space he needs to perform well, find his own way and rediscover the joy of playing.

As far as Manchester United are concerned, there are arguments in favour of his return because of his exceptional talent. However, it would only make sense under certain conditions. Sancho thrives at Dortmund because he feels supported as the team’s attacking star and has a defined role that allows him to be creative. At United, the lack of a clear structure and coherent plan prevented him from adapting. The fit between Sancho and United needs to be carefully considered.

In conclusion, it is important to give Sancho the time and space he needs to develop, without putting undue pressure on him. Now is not the time to demand that he take part in the Euros or to expect an immediate return to Manchester United. Let him play and find his rhythm, and the rest will follow naturally.concerned.
