Sports: Kaizer Chiefs Approach Bidvest Wits Midfielder

Last updated on September 11th, 2021 at 02:42 pm

Siya sources have indicated that Kaizer Chiefs have approached Bidvest Wits for the services of one of their midfielders.

Chiefs are currently banned from signing players for the upcoming two transfer windows, though are set to appeal the ban before the Court of Arbitration for Sport on September 8-9.

However, in the meantime, Amakhosi are still making plans to bolster their squad for the new season, hedging their bets in hopes that their transfer ban will be overturned.

Siya sources have since revealed that Chiefs have made contact with Wits for the services of Thabang Monare, this following the news of the sale of the club, adding that there have been high-level talks between the two clubs.

The midfielder is also currently on the radar of Orlando Pirates and as previously revealed by the Siya crew, the Bucs have also enquired about the 30-year-old’s availability.

While Amakhosi await their September appeal date, they could miss out on quite a few of their transfer targets as the likes of Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns are expected to make several new additions to their squads in the upcoming transfer window.
