Sports: Opportunity Abroad For SA Coach?

Last updated on September 11th, 2021 at 02:38 pm

A South African coach could get an opportunity to make a move abroad in the next step of his career – the Siya crew has been informed.

In his last role in Mzansi’s top-flight, Fani Mthethwa worked as an assistant to Wedson Nyirenda at Baroka FC, where among other achievements, they guided the Limpopo outfit to their Telkom Knockout success in the 2018/19 season.

Before the COVID-19 outbreak in March, Mthethwa had recently returned from overseas where he further equipped himself with football education.

“Fani Mthethwa has been approached by a Swedish Superettan League club in a bid to improve their team’s defensive attributes,” a source told the Siya crew.

“But the current COVID-19 pandemic and travel restrictions have resulted in the move being put on hold,” the source added.
