Tanzanian Singer Diamond Platnumz Accused Of Duplicating Others’ Songs

Tanzanian singer Diamond Platnumz has recently been in the spotlight for allegedly sampling songs from top Nigerian artists in his music. 

He has been known to work with Nigerian musicians in the past and seems to be a big fan of their music.

Some of the Nigerian hit songs that Diamond Platnumz’s work is said to have been inspired by include:

1. Naira Marley’s “Soapy” – Inspired Diamond’s “Babalao”: Both songs have similar beat patterns, rhymes, and music videos. Diamond’s track even mentions “Babalao,” which refers to a line from Naira Marley’s “Soapy.”

2. Wizkid and Tems’ “Essence” – Inspired Diamond’s “Loyal”: The Tanzanian singer’s “Loyal” track has similar beats and melodies to Wizkid and Tems’ hit song “Essence.”

3. Wizkid’s “Show You The Money” – Inspired Diamond’s “Gidi”: Diamond’s “Gidi” track was inspired by Wizkid’s “Show You The Money,” but it took a slower pace.

4. Wizkid’s “Joro” – Inspired Diamond’s “Jeje”: “Jeje” has been compared to Wizkid’s “Joro” due to their similar melodies and beat patterns.

5. Burna Boy’s “Gbona” – Inspired Diamond’s “Gidi”: Diamond’s “Gidi” also has similarities with Burna Boy’s “Gbona.”

6. Spyro’s “Who’s Your Guy” – Inspired Diamond’s “Enjoy”: Spyro’s hit song “Who’s Your Guy” might have influenced Diamond’s track titled “Enjoy.”

7. Asake’s “PBUY” – Inspired Diamond’s “Yataniua”: Diamond sampled Asake’s “Peace Be Unto You” (PBUY) in his own song “Yataniua” featuring Mbosso.
