The U.S. has suggested almost 44,500 new coronavirus cases on Saturday as Americans celebrated the Labor Day weekend.

“We don’t favor to see a repeat of the surges that we have seen following different vacation weekends,” Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases said to CNN. “We don’t prefer to see a surge underneath any circumstances, but particularly as we go on the other aspect of Labor Day and enter into the fall”, he added.

Although the coronavirus hasn’t stopped party things to do over the weekend, concerns over the massive gatherings that should unfold the virus remained.

On Sunday, in San Francisco, California, city officials introduced on social media that parking a lot at Ocean Beach would be closed after over 1,000 humans flocked to an tournament at the beach on Saturday.

San Francisco Mayor London Breed known as the massive gathering “reckless and selfish.” Septemberfest, a Labor Day weekend get together in Omaha, Nebraska, that usually attracts 35,000 humans was once canceled for the first time in its 43-year history, said match founder and chairman Terry Moore.

The Kentucky Derby, a good sized annual horse racing event was held on Saturday besides fans in the stands.

In Pennsylvania, the entertainment park, Kennywood expects this weekend will be a busy one for them before the summer time ends. The park requires all traffic to wear masks.

In Georgia, “The Biggest Labor Day Weekend Party in the City” hosted through rapper Gucci Mane and a “Sunday Funday” rooftop celebration have been scheduled on Sunday in Atlanta.

City officials are concerned the giant crowds over the weekend might also trigger a new wave of COVID-19 infections.
