Last updated on September 11th, 2021 at 08:25 am

The handover ceremony between Tunisia’s outgoing Prime Minister, Elyes Fakhfakh and his successor, Hichem Mechichi, took vicinity on Thursday in Dar Dhiaffa at the Carthage Palace.

The now ex-prime minister Fakhfakh did not cover his distaste for having to go away the Kasbah after solely a quite brief duration in position. He shared a few words, “I am convinced that it is now not possible to locate options to the troubles of the economic system — growth, poverty, unemployment, regional imbalances and marginalisation, as lengthy as there is no moralisation of political life and rationalisation, no safety from dirty cash and every person assumes their responsibilities.”

National personalities, the former president of the republic, former heads of government, heads of parties and organisations, the president of parliament, participants of the new government, and individuals of the outgoing government all took part in this handover ceremony — which marks the inauguration of Hichem Mechichi, as the 9th head of authorities after the revolution.

The clean high minister who until now served as the interior minister, Mechichi, who had acquired 134 votes of self assurance in his favour, appeared to be in a great deal lighter spirits as he shared his optimism going forth in his political role, “The composition of this government took place in a context characterised by instability and a few months after the legislative elections and in a context of tremendous expectations of residents to reap a concrete trade in their monetary and social situation, which has deteriorated in current years.”

Ten years after the revolution, Tunisia continues its democratisation, weakened with the aid of political struggles and its problem in reforming its economy. The cutting-edge covid-19 pandemic has now not aided their cause.
