Tunisia: President Kais Saied Names Hicham Mechichi as PM Designate

Last updated on September 11th, 2021 at 02:37 pm

Tunisia’s President Kais Saied picked his former felony adviser to shape a new government, nation news organisation TAP reported.

The 46-year old Hichem Mechichi held the indoors ministry in the outgoing government of Elyes Fakhfakh.

Fakhfakh resigned last week after almost 1/2 of parliament’s lawmakers filed a no-confidence action in his rule amid a showdown with a average Islamist celebration that’s the largest in the assembly.
