The meeting was chaired by Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan,Chairman of the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council board in Abu Dhabi, to discuss the UAE’s commitment to global humanitarian development. The high-level meeting reviewed and strategised the country’s international aid initiatives and highlighted the country’s continued push for supporting vulnerable communities in the world. The council talked about critical humanitarian projects and the visions of the plans of sustainable development and lifting living conditions of those in most need of protection under the presidency of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The council meeting revealed that humanitarian efforts need to be coordinated across all the national and international bodies. Sheikh Theyab stressed the need to enhance the use of resources offered by Emirati donor agencies and international relief institutions and humanitarian organizations within unified cooperation in order to reach the maximum impact and sustainable developments. The discussion included the operation plan of the UAE Aid Agency, strategic youth humanitarian initiative work and review of ongoing projects in the most challenging areas in the world.
Detailed briefings were given to the board meeting about UAE’s humanitarian projects being carried out in various parts of the world, depending upon the shortage of service therein. Sheikh Theyab also gave credit to the donor agencies and charitable associations’ keenness on the extensive programmes that 2024 and the continued humanitarian work. In attendance were key government officials including Minister of Community Empowerment Shamma bint Suhail Al Mazrui, other high level leaders from humanitarian and development institutions and members of the Fairmont.
