According to WAM, The United Arab Emirates has sent 25 ambulances; critical medical supplies and advanced medical equipment to Angola to help strengthen healthcare infrastructure in the country. The UAE’s intervention to this humanitarian work is at the heart of a much larger $220M international development and public health sector effort announced at COP28 in Dubai.
During his speech His Excellency Sheikh Shakhbout bin Nahyan Al Nahyan stressed that Africa needs prompt worldwide collaboration for improving its feeble healthcare networks. During the summit, leaders understood Africa’s medical infrastructure challenges and demanded joint solutions for its inadequacies.
Through its medical support to Angola, the UAE uses a strategic method to combat healthcare deficiencies at its source. Through its advanced medical resource support the nation helps developing countries build stronger healthcare facilities.
‘His Excellency, Sultan Mohamed Al Shamsi, Director of the UAE Aid Agency, emphasised that the country has been unwavering in its support for countries grappling with substantial economic and environmental challenges,’ he said. The medical aid to Angola is an example of an approach that the UAE is adopting and has been adopting: proactive around international development, giving to programs that sustainably address fundamental infrastructure needs.
UAE also stands tall with leadership in global humanitarian moves by prioritizing healthcare as a major area of foreign aid. This initiative not only delivers immediate medical support but also makes a positive contribution to the long-term capacity building of critical healthcare sectors.
