Uganda: Muntu blast EC, Clergy over ‘silence amidst turbulences’

“The silence of the Electoral Commission (EC) and the clergy amidst a looming crisis is deafening,” Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) President Flag bearer, Gen Mugisha Muntu has said.

Gen Muntu used to be on Thursday addressing a press conference at the celebration headquarters at Plot 87, Buganda Road, Kampala.

He accused the electoral body and the Clergy of without a doubt gazing as individuals of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) and state safety organs violate each the election guidelines and security requirements decreed via the government.

Gen Muntu mentioned latest incidents the place politicians such as the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs and Capt Mike Mukula held political conferences in the church barring any reprimand.

He stated it is incorrect for the church to clearly stay quiet due to concern of kingdom excesses, noting that, if the clergy succumb to the whim of concern propagated by way of the State, then each person is to wither.

“If you are paralysed through fear, what sort of God do you characterize here on earth? The God we worship says “Fear not for I am with you,” Gen Muntu said.
