Youth protests Nigerian singer Mohbad’s death; Who killed Mohbad?

Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, AKA MohBad, was a successful Nigerian rapper and singer. On 12 September 2023, he died mysteriously in Nigeria. He was buried in the Ikorodu area of Lagos, Nigeria’s largest city.

After his death, many celebrities and MohBad’s fans are demanding justice for him. The fans have also staged protests. So, what happened to MohBad? Who killed MohBad? Can MohBad get justice?

Youth protests Mohbad’s death

On Tuesday, youths gathered at the Okeletu bus-stop, Ikorodu, a city in Lagos State, Nigeria, to protest MohBad’s death. They demanded justice for MohBad. They were seen chanting, “We need justice for MohBad.” They alleged that the singer died in an unclear circumstance. They demanded a probe into his death. The protesters also urged the Nigerian government to arrest Naira Marley and Sam Larry. Some protesters said, “We are in pain!! Mohbad must not die in vain.”

Oyebanji urges Police to investigate Mohbad’s death

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, also urged the police to investigate Mohbad’s death. He urged the authorities to unravel the mysteries surrounding the untimely passing of the Nigerian singer. Oyebanji also expressed sadness over Mohbad’s death. He also sent his deepest condolences to the family and fans of the late singer.

Who killed Mohbad?

According to Mohbad’s fans, Naira Marley, a Nigerian singer and songwriter, and Samson Erinfolami Balogun, Lagos socialite and show promoter, are responsible for killing MohBad. 

Earlier, fans also burned Naira Marley’s house to protest Mohbad’s death. They also demanded his immediate arrest. 

The late singer, Mohbad, was formerly signed to Naira Marley’s Marlian Records. Mohbad was at the peak of his career. However, he had to leave the record label in 2022. The fans said that Naira Marley tortured Mohbad. Fans also alleged that Naira Marley attacked Mohbad, which led to the singer leaving the Marlian Records. 

Amid the controversy, an old video of Sam Larry and late singer Mohbad went viral on the internet. In the video, the late singer was seen being assaulted by some people allegedly led by Sam Larry, AKA Samson Erinfolami Balogun. Fans also started to accuse him over Mohbad’s death. 

However, Sam Larry has denied all the allegations. He said, “I can’t kill Mohbad.” He also said that Mohbad was like a brother to him. He also called on the authorities to investigate Mohbad’s death. 

The Nigeria Police have started investigating the whole matter. After the proper investigation, the exact cause of Mohbad’s death will be known.
