42% of Global Gaza Aid: UAE’s $828 Million Contribution Leads the Way

ccording to the most recent data, the United Arab Emirates came in first on the list of nations that have contributed the most to aiding Gaza and its citizens in the midst of the continuing conflict between Israel and Hamas.

The German Press Agency reports that since the crisis started in October 2023, the UAE has donated $828 million (Dh3.04 billion) to Gaza and has contributed 42%, literally nearly half of the relief provided to Palestinians till date.

The United Arab Emirates was among the first countries to react to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza in 2023. As soon as the bombings started, the UAE started providing relief supplies and medical assistance by air, land and sea.

Through the World Health Organization, The UAE sent 9 metric tonnes of medicine and medical supplies to Gaza benefiting 300,000 people for 3 months worth $423,060.

The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) to support the health sector in Gaza in cooperation with the World Health Organization made a $10,000,000 paid contribution.

Provision of Ambulances worth $6,779,393 Delivered 46 ambulances via Poland for medical and evacuation use in Gaza.It is to improve emergency medical response and patient transport efficiency.

The Emirati Jordanian Field Hospital Operations in January 2024 worth $344,401 covered running costs for the month and provided primary care, surgical operations and trauma treatment. In February 2024 worth $18,681 continued operational support for essential medical services. And again in April 2024 funds worth $71,458 addressed critical medical conditions and provided specialized care.

The Medical Center in UAE Jordanian Camp in March 2024 worth $582,636 covered operational expenses of the medical center offering therapeutic and emergency services. And in April 2024 funds  worth $108,888 supported daily operations to treat displaced populations and refugees.

In total UAE has provided $18,328,617 worth funds just at 2024 for health related assistance. These funds benefited the refugees, displaced populations and conflict affected individuals in Gaza. The main services supported were critical healthcare delivery, emergency response and long term therapeutic care.
