Kenya –  Agnes Tirop, a Kenyan runner who won bronze medals at the World Championships on two separate occasions, has died. The announcement was made by the country’s track and field federation on Wednesday. The body of the 25-year-old athlete was discovered at her home in Iten, a hamlet in western Kenya that is well-known as a training ground for distance runners.

Athletics Kenya stated it was still investigating the event and had not yet received word of Tirop’s death, but that it had been informed of his death. Kenya, according to the federation, has forfeited a precious gem. “This is my friend, who has abandoned us for reasons that are still unclear. We have not embraced the fact that Tirop is the woman for whom we prayed every day in the hope that she would do big and excellent things for Kenya, and now that she has been finished in such a manner, we are not happy.”

According to claims in Kenyan media, she was discovered with stab wounds in her belly when she was discovered. Kenyan police have said that they have begun an investigation into the incident. Tom Makori, the chief of the local police department, stated that it appeared that the athlete’s husband had called his parents and begged them for help. “Some revelations from her husband’s relatives indicate that the husband had called his parents and begged them to take her out of the house.

He was telling them that he sincerely hoped that God would forgive him for something he had done in the past. ”  Women’s 10,000-meter bronze medalist Tirop won bronze medals at the 2017 and 2019 World Championships, and finished fourth in the 5,000-meter final at the 2018 Tokyo Olympics. Tirop set a new world record in a 10-kilometer road race for women only last month, breaking the previous mark by a second. After winning the world cross-country championships at the age of 19 in 2015, she became the second-youngest winner in history, and her career took off.
