Amazon Prime Video, an American over-the-top streaming and rental service company, is set to launch a new African original series titled “Ebuka Turns Up Africa.”
Ebuka Obi-Uchendu – a Nigerian media personality who is famous for hosting the reality show Big Brother Naija – will be starring in an African original series titled “Ebuka Turns Up Africa,” which is a travel-reality show.
In “Ebuka Turns Up Africa,” Ebuka Obi-Uchendu will start an adventurous journey across Africa, uncovering hidden treasures and testing friendships of Timini Egbuson, Zubby Michael, Jimmie Akinsola, Onoja Adole, and Alistair Englebert Preston.
Ebuka Turns Up Africa will showcase adventure across Africa. Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Timini Egbuson, Zubby Michael, Jimmie Akinsola, Onoja Adole, and Alistair Englebert Preston, will embark on an adventure across Africa. Their personalities may clash and tempers flare during the journey.
Prime Video Naija has announced the launch of the new reality show on Instagram. Ebuka Obi-Uchendu also announced the launch of the African reality show on Instagram. Ebuka Obi-Uchendu said on Instagram, “Ebuka Turns Up in Africa!!! The ultimate journey of discovery and connection. A glimpse into a one-of-a-kind boys’ trip. Coming soon to @primevideonaija.”
Ned Mitchell, the head of MENA Originals, Prime Video, reportedly said, “Ebuka Turns Up Africa is a unique celebration of Africa, brought to life by Ebuka and his top squad.”
“Ebuka Turns Up Africa” is an Amazon Prime Video Original produced by Rapid Blue Productions Nigeria. The executive producers of the show are Ziyanda Ngcaba and Erika Klopper.
Ned Mitchell has said that Amazon sees Nigeria and South Africa as “fertile” countries, from which the company can expand into the African continent.
“Ebuka Turns Up Africa” will be released by next year. Wangi Mba-Uzoukwu, the head of Nigerian originals at Amazon Studios, will announce the actual release date soon. Wangi Mba-Uzoukwu has said that the show will be unscripted.
She said, “Don’t try to do Hollywood in Nigeria, do Nigeria for Nigeria.”
