DP World and India’s government launched two projects to boost Indian exports throughout multiple areas of the world. The announcement released this week during a top-level delegation from UAE to India. Under the Bharat Africa Setu initiative DP World aims to double India-Africa trade by linking its trading networks between these regions.
Indian exporters will now access 53 African countries and 260,000 sales points because of this initiative that combines physical infrastructure with value-added services. Minister Piyush Goyal expressed during his launch ceremony that Africa presents valuable trading opportunities for India.
At the same time construction has started on Bharat Mart within Dubai’s Jebel Ali Free Zone to help India expand its business reach to Middle East markets and global customers. The facility will start operating its first phase later in 2026. These steps work towards the goal of increasing India-UAE non-oil trade to $100 billion by 2030.
