India vs. Australia, WTC Final Day 3: AUS lead by 296 runs

Day 3 of the WTC (World Test Championship) witnessed tough competition. The Indian cricket team and the Australian cricket team fought to be ahead in the match.

A nail-biting match was seen in the World Test Championship (WTC) final at The Oval on Thursday. Day 3 produced great moments, was evenly balanced, was stitched with combative batting, and saw some great wickets.

Ajinkya Rahane, an Indian international cricketer and former captain and vice-captain of the Indian team in test format, and Shardul Thakur, an Indian bowler who bats right-handed and bowls right-arm medium pace, scored 109 runs off 145 balls and ensured that the Indian national team lost just one wicket in the first session of the match.

However, Ajinkya Rahane fell to Pat Cummins, an Australian international cricketer who captains the Australian cricket team in Test and ODI cricket, on 89. Cameron Green, an Australian cricketer, caught the ball. Shardul scored a half-century before falling on 51 to Cameron Green. The Indian cricket team was all out for 296. Subsequently, the Australian team took a first-inning lead of 173 runs.

David Warner, an Australian international cricketer, and Usman Khawaja, an Australian cricketer, came out to open the batting for the Australian cricket team. David scored 43 runs on 60 balls in the first inning. However, he could not turn up in the second inning. 

Steve Smith scored his 31st Test century on Day 2 against India in the ICC World Test Championship Final 2023. 

After the match, Shardul said, “I have played a handful of games, and that felt like a welcome to Test cricket.” He has now scored four half-centuries in his nine-match Test career.
