Babar Azam, a Pakistani international cricketer and captain of the Pakistan national cricket team, has shattered Virat Kohli, an Indian international cricketer, and South African former cricketer Hashim Amla’s feat.
The Pakistani cricket team went to the top of the ICC (International Cricket Council) Men’s ODI (One-Day International) Team Rankings with a win in Karachi, the largest city in Pakistan, in the fourth ODI against New Zealand.
On Friday, Babar Azam scored his 14th half-century in the fourth ODI match against New Zealand at the National Stadium in Karachi. He scored the fastest to 5000 ODI runs in his 96th ODI innings. The record was previously held by Hashim Amla, the cricketer who played for South Africa in all three formats of the game. The cricketer achieved the feat in 101 innings. Hashim Amla was one of the highest-paid cricketers in South Africa.

The Pakistani popular cricketer reached the milestone of 5000 runs in his ODI career on Friday. He completed the feat in just his 97th innings. With this move, he became the fastest-ever batsman to 5000 runs.
In 2022, the Pakistani cricketer missed out on Amla’s world record for 4000 ODI runs. South African legend holds the record for being the fastest-ever batter to score 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000, 6000 and 7000 ODI runs.
On Friday, the Pakistani cricket team also became the new No.1 team in men’s ODIs. Pakistan had a massive victory over New Zealand in the fourth ODI match in Karachi.
Pakistan now has 113 rating points. The Pakistani team now aims to win the fifth and final ODI on Sunday.
If Pakistan loses the final ODI match, the team would slip down to No.3 and Australia would reclaim their No.1 ranking.
