David Miller, a South African professional and the highest-paid cricketer, has arrived in India to participate in IPL (Indian Premier League). He is playing for Gujarat Titans, a franchise cricket team based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India.
On Tuesday, Gujarat Titans won against Delhi Capitals in the IPL match in New Delhi. David Miller scored 31 runs from 16 balls. He scored two sixes and four off Mukesh Kumar in the 16th over towards the end of the match. Axar Patel scored 36 off 22 in the match.
The Gujarat team lost their third wicket when Khaleel Ahmed, a left-arm medium pacer, played for the Delhi innings. Titans scored 54/3 after six overs. Sudharsan and Vijay Shankar scored 53 runs for the fourth wicket in 44 balls. However, Shankar was dismissed on 29. GT needed 56 off 40 balls.
Sudharsan and Miller wanted to help the team. Star player Miller hit two sixes and a four in a 20-run over. The star player also survived a close lbw call against Kuldeep Yadav. The Titans secured their second win with the help of Miller.
After the match, Miller told at a press conference, “Confidence is a big part to play. It is about doing the same thing, making the correct decisions, not unnecessarily panicking too early and keep kind of calculating all the way through.”
Miller also praised other players. He said that Sai Sudharshan was a ‘seriously talented’ player. He scored 62 off 48 balls. He also appreciated Hardik Pandya. Miller said that he was honoured to play under him in the IPL season. During the press conference, Miller said, “Hardik is definitely one of the top leaders I have worked with. I’m very privileged to work under him.”
