Jofra Archer to return in South Africa T20 cricket league

Jofra Archer, a Barbadian-born English cricketer representing England and Sussex, is set for competitive cricket for the first time in almost 18 months in South Africa T20 cricket league.

He is set to play two matches for MI Cape Town in the South Africa T20 cricket league, the SA20. The first game took place on Tuesday against the Paarl Royals. He took three wickets for 27 runs playing for MI Cape Town. The second match would take place on Friday against the Durban SuperGiants.

England’s managing director of men’s cricket, Rob Key, confirmed Archer’s return to cricket. Key reportedly said, “If he gets through SA20, we will pick him for the South Africa ODI (One-Day International) series, so he will go from four overs to 10 overs.”

His return after 18 months is great news for England. If Archer comes through his two matches in SA20, he can feature for England.
