Niger: Presidential Bid Offer For The Opposition Rejected

Last updated on September 11th, 2021 at 08:16 am

A constitutional court in Niger has rejected the presidential bud from the resistance leader, Hama Amadou will not be contesting for the presidency in the country due to some irregularities in the personality of Hama Amadou.

Falling one spot shy of the administration in the 2016 political race to current President Mahamadou Issoufou, the 70-year-old Amadou, twice PM, was condemned in 2017 to one year in jail for child dealing — a case he has consistently kept up was a political assault.

The Constitutional Court, has, be that as it may, approved 30 official competitors — including Mohamed Bazoum, 60 years of age, of the Niger Party for Democracy and Socialism (PNDS).

Niger has been facing some major unrest in the country due to some terrorist organization that has been victimizing the citizens of Niger. The terrorist group also abducted a US citizen who was later rescued by military troops from US.
