Nigeria: Bandits kill 13 members of the family, and one more in Kogi

Fourteen people, such as thirteen participants of the same household had been killed in an early morning attack via suspected bandits on Wednesday in Agudu, in the Kogi/Kotonkarfe Local Government Area of Kogi State.

The kingdom Commissioner of Police, Ede Ayuba, while briefing journalists on the things to do of the command, said “the thirteen household individuals had been wiped out” by the attackers, adding that another individual used to be killed, while six folks sustained injuries.

He said when the police obtained to the village, the bandits had left, including that normalcy had been restored to the area.

The CP, who stated that the assault may want to have been precipitated via age-long communal disputes in the community, described it as unfortunate.

He said, “A man and 12 household individuals have been killed. His son is the solely survivor. Another individual used to be killed, whilst those injured have been taken to  the hospital.”

The police boss in addition disclosed that the killers of the late Innocent Ofodile, owner of famous Chuck’s Supermarket in Lokoja, who was murdered on Lokoja-Abuja Road, had been arrested.

He explained that one Vincent Omogor, who was once arrested for kidnapping, confessed that he and his gang individuals had been responsible for the killing of Offodile.

The CP stated the gang carried out the killing “on the order of one of his keep attendants, who complained of now not being attended to when he approached him for monetary help when his father died.”
