Nollywood Actor Sylvester Madu Escapes Death; Details Inside

Sylvester Madu – a famous Nollywood actor and director, who is best known for Bullet of Justice (2014), The Casket (2014) and The Illiterate (2013) – escaped death after being ambushed by gunmen in Cameroon, a Central African country, on Sunday.

The popular Nigerian actor went to Bamenda, a city in northwestern Cameroon, at the invitation of local filmmakers to shoot a film titled ‘Abakwa’. 

When Sylvester Madu and the team were relaxing at a leisure site in Bamenda on Sunday, Cameroonian militia Ambazonia Boys, also known as Amba Boys, tried to kill some people. 

What happened to Sylvester Madu?

Cameroonian militia said that the owner of a Cameroonian bar brought the Nollywood actor without first settling them. The argument became intense, resulting in the killing of some people. 

Some people tried to escape the shootout by finding refuge on the ground. The Nollywood actor hid in the VIP section to escape death.

Sylvester Madu was carried away in a military vehicle. The military forces came to restore order in the bar. 

During the shootout incident, at least 8 people were also injured. Some people were sent to the hospital to receive treatment.

According to reports, 5 people were killed in the shootout. The actor was the target of the attack.

Sylvester Madu was born on 10 January 1975 in Anambra State, which is located in the southeastern region of Nigeria. He started his acting career after completing his higher studies.

He has acted in various Nollywood films, including The Illiterate, Scent of Passion, Jealous Lovers, Dangerous Assassin, Power as of Old and The Casket.
