Portable Received N5m From Celestial Church; What’s The Controversy?

Portable – a famous Nigerian singer, rapper and songwriter – came into the limelight after he revealed that he received N5m from Celestial Church in Nigeria.

Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Olalomi Oyegbile, popularly known as Portable, has finally reacted to his sudden exit from a Celestial Church praise night.

Last week, Olatosho Oshoffa, the Shepherd-in-charge of the Celestial Church of Christ International Headquarters in Ketu, Lagos, Nigeria, condemned the invitation extended to Portable to perform at one of the church branches’ praise nights. Reacting to this development, Portable expressed his determination to perform at the church.

The Nigerian singer said, “Celestial church we must do the show, you have already paid me N5 million. I will perform and we must do it.”

What’s the controversy?

Celestial Church of Christ International Headquarters in Ketu, Lagos State, stirred up controversies after unveiling popular Fuji musician Pasuma and Portable as guest artistes for its upcoming praise night event at one of its branches. 

Celestial Church of Christ received criticism from the public about the choice of entertainers for the upcoming celestial praise night. After facing criticism, the Church agreed for the removal of the singers from the scheduled celebration.

Portable reacted to the development and vowed to perform at Celestial Church’s event. He reportedly said, “The children of God are coming. Land of Goshen Cathedral please in God’s name, consider us as children of God, don’t judge me by my appearance.”

Portable is always in the limelight because of various reasons. He has also made headlines with a special request for Nigerian megastars Wizkid and Davido. He expressed his desire to collaborate on a future project with Wizkid and Davido.

Who is Portable?

Portable or Dr Zeh is a popular Nigerian singer, rapper and songwriter. He came into spotlight for the song “ZaZoo Zehh” featuring Nigerian rapper Olamide.

In his career, he has always been in controversial activities. During the early stages of his career, he had issues with Poco Lee and Wizkid.

When Poco Lee invited Portable to a concert, he saw Wizkid and Olamide. Wizkid sprayed Portable some money, but Poco Lee split the money behind him and caused a stir.

In June this year, he made headlines because of his lifestyle and singing talent. He was awarded with the Golden Star Artist of the Year for his efforts in the singing industry in Nigeria.

Earlier this year, he was accused of stealing and assaulting Osimusi Emmanuel. The Singer was also charged with five counts of assault and stealing. Later on, the court granted him bail.
